‘Twas the morn of breakfast with Santa when all through the house not a creature was stirring, except for a mouse.
The letters were written with care, in hopes that St. Nick would be able to fill all they dare.
The children were nestled all snug in their bed, I saw Alex kick his brother in the head.
When down the stairs there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the back door, I flew like a flash, and just like that, the dog did dash.
When what to my wondering eye, where are all the clean clothes? We have nothing to wear to see the big guy.
And then in a twinkling I heard in the laundry room, the washing machine go vroom, vroom.
Now, Alyssa! Now, Alex and Andy! Come on, Tim! Before we miss him!
His eyes, how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
And his feet hit the floor. A sprint to the door, he wasn’t much more than a blur.
But we got our picture. And I exclaim as he drove out of sight, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
